I've talked to several people who did not receive AIP payout because they left before the pay period in which it was paid out but worked all performance year. Nobody remembers signing an agreement stating that limitation, nor signing the policy. That said, AIP was called out in their offer letter with no mention of the bogus payment policy. Review period and check writing should not be related.

As others have mentioned. Read your termination agreement. If you spotted it and discussed it, challenged it the chances are that you have been paid it. If you signed it without reading it fully, chances are (sadly) you don’t qualify. Devil really is in the detail
Can't we all agree that the policy doesn't make sense and that m.E is garbage?
The folks who were laid off still received our AIP because we were let go 'against our will', but I don't think you still apply if you voluntarily leave (that's my guess). TD also screwed us over by moving to 'flex time off' so they wouldn't have to pay out vacation upon termination as well. YAY MURICA! Sorry OP, I don't think anyone who quit can do anything about their AIP situation. :(
My docs from three years ago have that same stipulation on the AIP

Taken from recent TD employment agreement: “No AIP award is guaranteed, and unless an exception applies as expressly set forth in the AIP Guidelines, you must be employed by Teradata on the date AIP awards are paid to be eligible to receive an AIP award”
it is pretty clearly stated. As always do your own research before leaving and make sure you are aware of the rules and how they apply in your situation. I know one person who read the rules and waited until they received their AIP in the bank account before pulling the pin. It wasn't a hard thing for them to go and understand the rules
It is clearly stated that if you leave prior to pay out, you forfeit the AIP. Keep repeating, TD CARES! Scream it until you realize they don't give a phat pile of sheet about you or your family or your bonus. SM likes F1 race cars. I care. /s
Not disclosed, presented, reviewed, nor agreed to as part of employment offer though AIP is large part of compensation package.
Note to self: Must learn to read (AIP policy)
