Layoff tomorrow?

When do managers get the list of those they must inform?

Will 30TB Actually Happen?

Can STX deliver 30TB? Even before the cuts this seemed like a stretch. Does it even make sense to bring to market with NAND so cheap?

Spend top $ on ceo circle

“BS” still promoting big spending on his functions by pushing for the ceo circle spending. This is when engineers and other fucntions are losing jobs. No sensitivity at all…..Surprising why Mosley and CFO and JeffN other leaders are permitting this... — read more

RIF CEO

It is time for the CEO to be gone. We all knew this day would come of massive change to demand and the quick decline of HDD. This CEO will be the joke of MBA business cases for years to come for not having a strategy to mitigate this decline with... — read more

Almost everyone would like to leave here

The atmosphere in the company is such that the majority of my colleagues intend to leave very soon even if they are not RIFed. Perhaps the leadership should ask themselves why this is so, despite the fact that the situation on the job market is... — read more

How many to be RIF'd

If Facebook is laying off 12k, what does an old tech company like STX layoff with limited growth prospects? 15k? 20k?

Layoffs started?

Have the layoffs actually started? Nothing at my location yet.

Cronyism runs rampant

If you expect to be judged based on merit, think again. Promotions are given strictly based on who your friends are, at least in my department. It’s hard to watch as good, knowledgeable people who work hard get passed over for promotions over those... — read more

Any truth in the cost of living crisis $1200 or £1000 one off payment to all employees ? Very sceptical myself as the place seems to be doomed esp here in STST

Any cuts to VPs or Business Excellence team?

I figure as long as bloated teams like Business Excellence are around and people with titles like Chief of Staff, we have many more layoffs to go. Cuts need to go into the 5k plus range. How about all the VPs, any of them part of layoffs?

Severance

It's very likely just a misunderstanding, but someone told me that I shouldn't get my hopes up for the package, which is the main reason I'm still here after all. Can someone please tell me if there have been any changes in the severance plan... — read more

Uncertainty has a terrible effect on morale

I can't imagine that ever happening

But in the end, the company will always lay off people rather than cut the dividend. The executives and BoD are addicted to the dividend and will sacrifice projects and capital to protect that dividend. I completely agree with what someone wrote... — read more

It's all you think about Dave.

Heard at employee meeting this week when addressing dividends and capital spending, "We have to think of the shareholders." Dave, that is ALL you think about. Stop trying to nuance the mess you guys have created.

Laying off recent hires

I came here not long ago and now I'm already hearing rumors about cuts. Some advise me to start looking for something else. Is this another one of those companies that, due to its poor planning, are cutting the recently hired ones as well?
