It will be a file cabinet somewhere at Avago.
Always thought it was a silly name
Seagate will be located near seas with gates at entrances.
Gone?
What happened to IT 4.0, Internet of Things, data living on the "Edge", and all the other complete rubbish we were fed the last 10 years? The future instead looks like one where we can barely keep the Efffing lights on.
ugh...this was a trick question Jeff. Also, we would NOT like YOU as CEO.
In five years, Seagate will be smaller, with evenue about $5-7B. HAMR will have some small acceptance among customers, but mostly they'll be buying 2022 drives. The storage market will be further along in adopting SSD over HDD because the permanent increase in energy prices will skew the market to the more energy efficient (and reliable) product. This will mean the size of the TAM will stagnate and the three remaining manufacturers will be more aggressive in pricing, further lowering revenues. Seagate will no longer be able to buy back stock because the reduced revenues and higher interest rates will limit bond issuance. Reduced revenues will push executives to eliminate redundancies in having multiple sites manufacturing and engineering drives and components. Number of employees will be slightly more than half of what it is today.
In 5 years people will ask, what is a Seagate?
It will be around but long sold off to company which thought it made sense at the time but now wants to get rid off it immediately but can't find nobody. Answered your question?
