Worrying ahead of time just wastes your energy. It is better to do the minimum required, polish your resume, look for new options, expand your network of contacts, try to save some money and the like. If a layoff happens, it's not the end of the world! People in most cases find much better jobs after they leave Seagate. Just saying.

Did you get your free heated blanket from the canteen? If you get impacted, at least you can be comfortable on the streets.
@7jae+1jcjkeyB: The answer is always "1 or 2 years out".
Where is their savior technology, HAMR?
If you lay off newer hires the package becomes much more affordable. Just saying.
If the technology that you guys work is outdated and old..how can u feel comfortable to find a job later
This time it will be way rougher since the overall economy is not doing great. Find an equivalent paying job right now? Haha....The cuts will also be way larger. If you're not out yet, you're way too late in the game. Expecting a package? Haha...We can't even pay suppliers, no cash on hand.
Very well said! Have been laid off from here before but came back for benefits and relaxed work. Sucks being forced to find a new job but I bet it will be more interesting than here
We’ll said!
