There are more and more rumors about layoffs and this has become a real mess. Some say that they would even like to be laid off, but there are also those of us who would like to try to keep our jobs. However, is it possible to achieve this by putting in double efforts? Unfortunately, I don't think so. It's totally demoralizing.

No matter how hard you have worked or contributed to the bottom line, a layoff is just a business decision. Sad but I have seen many stellar folk get laid off and then show back up later in another role. What was the point of their layoff in the first place if they were going to be hired back in another role? I enjoy what I do but know not to take anything personally. A job is just that, a job. Honest days work for honest days pay. Always keep you resume up to date, your skillset sharp, and network.
