Will 30TB Actually Happen?

Can STX deliver 30TB? Even before the cuts this seemed like a stretch. Does it even make sense to bring to market with NAND so cheap?

DA might pay for itself in certain applications. Need to find a trustworthy customer that provides reliable feedback. Video streaming apps?

Recent Blocks and Files article says the more high capacity HDD's sold, the smaller the numbers of drives shipped.

So if HAMR/30Tb drives reach acceptance in the marketplace, prepare for a reduction in units sold, although # of exabytes sold will do just fine.

Can and will. Small volume shipments but only together with Systems early next year afaik.

But
We need to sell way more 18/20TB drives right now - to make ends meet.
We need to put another PMR disk in there right now - nobody cares about your DA tech.
We need to stop projects right now like pretending to know DNA storage when we can't even do SSD right.

Too costly to bring to market. All hype cycle for board and market.
