With headcount dwindling the result will be more responsibility falling into the laps of the (fortunately) still employed. Don't expect feature demand to decrease with decreasing headcount. Don't expect schedules to push out. The likely result will be an increase in HW and SW bugs. If you find yourself in a position of being responsible for bug slips, simply use the excuse that you were "moving at the speed of science" and all will be forgiven.

Of course demand will and is decreasing. However, panic will cause the push for more science projects in an effort to appear relevant to the cause. And those left will look busy until it all… finally… collapses.
Silly employees, cash is for dividends and buybacks, not for you...
Future demand will decrease and has. Schedules will push out since no builds/no evals are run. Product lines will get cut, current and new ones. No cash for science projects. No cash at all.
