Disappointed in the way it was done

I read posts on LinkedIn from people who were with the company for 12, 18 and even 25 years who were laid off in this Aug 2025 RIF. Imagine working for a company for 25 years and then being cast aside like nothing with a sh---y pre-recorded 5 min call. The small severance amount is also insulting. I’m shocked by how all these loyal employees were treated.

Does anybody know whats ahead for Dublin?
A lot have gone in the last week but are more cuts ahead in the short to medium term?
Have also heard they are trying to cut the package from 6 weeks to 2 weeks per year in the next round.
Is this legal or can anyone give any feedback from a legal standpoint?

In about 2 hours from now.....

In about 2 hours from now.....

the employees in India that survived this RIF will likely be starting their workday. Those that did not will be wondering what just happened.......

Going across the various time zones as the sun rises, there will be other centers of F5 employees that will be encountering the same.

In the US, I know of Seattle, Spokane and San Jose that got hit. I believe there were a number of remote employees too among those that are now without employment. I'm guessing the RIF size to be > 250.

Having been through 3 RIFs and two closings of my own, the hardest hit are those going through medical procedures/issues and the children of those RIFd and those RIFd that are taking care of their parents. Will savings last long enough so that food can be provided on the table and shelter to provide warmth? Will I be able to afford COBRA to get me through the medical issues? Will I find new employment? How do I comfort my kids? How do I take care of my aging parents?

I don't have any answers. For me, it's unbelievable that I survived those times and situations.

I would hope the various Chief x-x Officers (of which now there are many), SVPs, VPs, and senior management seriously consider what they have just done. It's much more than keeping the stock price up, double digit profit, and maintaining your bonuses. You have just destroyed the lives of hundreds of loyal hard working honest people and it didn't need to be done. There were other ways.

At F5 there was a core group of about 7 of us working on bigip next/centralized manager that continuously raised concerns about the architecture/feature set along with the quality and performance of the products. We also raised concerns that F5's implementation of Agile/Scrum was a poor development choice. Our concerns were dismissed. Gradually, each one of us was eliminated over the course of a number of RIFs. We were silenced.

And now those products are no longer.

F5 is no longer a community member. F5 is no longer human first. F5 has lost it's soul.

Want severance? Just say no!

Just a PSA to all you burnouts (I am one of you) that you can just tell your boss "no." And you can do it a whole bunch before Optum fires you. Working for a company with an accountability problem means your boss is a coward who really doesn't want to confront you on your sh-t. It's also super likely that he or she is a parasite who is entirely dependent on your work for their survival. Most of them need you more than you need them. And, most are holding off on firing people so they have candidates to sacrifice for the next month's RIF. You want some of that sweet severance? Tell your boss "No" for a few months. I promise you'll be less burnt out and you'll be at the top of that RIF list.

I love you all. Break the chains

DXC technology Layoffs Confirmed As Part Of ‘Workforce Rebalancing’
'This is a part of regular workforce rebalancing that ensures resources across DXC technology’s global businesses and geographies are aligned with strategic objectives and customer needs,' says DXC technology in a statement regarding layoffs that are occurring this week.

DXC technology has confirmed that a “limited number” of employees are being laid off this week as part of the star’s annual “workforce rebalancing.”

“This is a part of regular workforce rebalancing that ensures resources across DXC technology’s global businesses and geographies are aligned with strategic objectives and customer needs,” said DXC technology in a statement. “We have an active employee support program to ensure, where possible, impacted employees will be redeployed to open roles within DXC technology.”

DXC technology declined to disclose the specific number or percentage of DXC technology employees being impacted.

Sources said the layoffs included several hundred employees on a global basis. DXC technology employs roughly 124,000 people although the company has gone on an acquisition tear over the past 12 months.

DXC technology said that even with the layoffs this week, the company’s head count continues to grow.

“There are significantly more openings than the number of positions impacted this month. There are currently over 3,250 openings listed on DXC technology.com’s career page,” said DXC technology. “We continue to recruit in areas of strategic importance for the company.”

Many DXC technology employees who were let go this week took to social media.

A new chapter of my life starts. I actually doesn't feel that bad - there are so many great opportunities out there, and so many great people to collaborate with. #DXC technology #RIF

Unfortunately I was laid off from DXC technology as part of the reorg that happened yesterday. If anyone knows of any open roles around Solutions Engineering or Tech Marketing I would appreciate the help in the job search! #DXC technology

The layoffs comes on the heels of DXC technology’s recent acquisition of Luxoft for $2 billion and Nyansa for an undisclosed amount.

Over the past 12 months, DXC technology has acquired companies, making it one of its busiest M&A spans.

DXC technology has spent billions on acquisitions to boost DXC technology’s application support

DXC technology also made a giant splash in the cybersecurity market last year with the blockbuster acquisition of endpoint security leader.

In terms of the recent layoffs, DXC technology said that it is “rebalancing some areas” of business to drive growth.

“We are rebalancing some areas of our business to align to our top growth priorities, which resulted in some positions being eliminated. This is not uncommon in the fast-changing technology industry,” said DXC technology. “For employees that were impacted, we are making every effort to find them new positions either at DXC technology or externally. We are committed to working together with impacted employees to ease the transition. This includes providing placement services and dedicated recruiters.”

Sungard AS is dying

In the first week of August, 75 employees in the US were whacked. The rumbles I'm hearing is that more to happen for the rest of the month. There's no question Sungard AS is dying. For five years, sales haven't met its target. These are unrealistic targets. But long-standing customers are leaving. They can't stand the poor service coming out of Costa Rica and India. What's left of product development is just weak. For example, the automated recovery tool is essentially dead. So now you've got executives bailing from the organization. The reality is, good people are gone, products are just languishing without solid progress, customers are frustrated, and the company is adrift without purpose except to RIF employees to make the numbers look good.

RIF'd a year ago - After achieving President's Club - CAN NOT FIND ANY JOB

After all the accolades of achieving Presidents Club-ranked the #3 wireline sales rep in the country.... less than 9 months later I am RIF'd. Made absolutely no sense and the only thing I can deduce is.... A: I'm older than 50 and female (health care risk? risk to be a caregiver of older parents as a female?) and/or B: I was making too much money. They can hire a 20 year old for pennies on the dollar of what I made. Multiple Vz jobs have since been applied for that I am more than qualified for ...nothing... NADA, not even a whiff of interest. Not even the courtesy of one single call or email. Same with all the other similar jobs applied for with other companies, after a LONG successful career...doesn't matter. Unless I want an entry level job I have nothing on the horizon. During the same RIF.... long term qualified engineers were laid off and immediate listings were on the internal job board for their jobs in Czechoslovakia(I had 30 days to look internally for a job that is how I know they were posted. one of my team engineers lost his job to a foreign worker....he'd been there over 35 years) They are destroying the older American workers lives which is technically illegal but of course you can't prove it and you sign away your rights if you want that package. Now looking to move to Costa Rica or Nicaragua to try and survive on what money I have left.
