@222 Correct... U.S. can afford quality and should avoid cheap alternatives, which ultimately cost more. Over-reliance on low-cost imports is why China now leads in many advanced industries.
@1x6 Why? Because it is cheaper to hire in India. Pure and simple.
Why is VISA hiring so many people in India? It makes most of its profit here. But, we are supposed to get India all the jobs? Further, why are we hiring Indians for entry level jobs, giving internships and hiring them later on here in the USA? Are there no American kids for these jobs? I am having to teach noob Indians how to do tasks which I can teach any American kids. Indians will call me racists but they will ask the same questions if TATA motors were to hire 80% Americans in their engineering department.
@1mf : some of them are basically getting paid US salaries while taking months-long vacations in their home country while calling it 'remote work'.
@1fm I have seen multiple Indians leave office at 11 AM a lot of times.
@1gw I didn’t say “tracking”, it’s not reported.
Funny how the person who has no idea what they're talking about keeps insisting that others need to stop spreading misinformation.
Visa knows when you badge in. Visa knows when you badge out. Visa wants employees in the office at least three days a week. Is it really so hard to believe that Visa is doing the basic math required to calculate how long employees are in the office? This is the same company that for several months was sending out a report to all of software management shaming teams that had low AI commit counts. Other than avoiding lawsuits, I doubt employee privacy is high on Visa's list of concerns.
Unless they somehow follow through on the ask by @1f5+1kbtpnk39 to provide proof of misinformation, they won't of course, I'd take anything they say as trolling and ignore it. Get these posts back to useful discussions.
"daily time in office is not reported. Only badge in and badge out on that particular date."
Ah yes, they can track the date you enter/exit the building, but tracking the time is somehow technically impossible =)
@1fm. Their greed and cheap corrupt work politics never ends. messed up the whole workplace.
To be honest, its mostly Indians who have been doing multiple jobs unhappy with this policy.
@1dk+1kbtpnk39 just as soon as you upload the picture from HR saying they aren't tracking time in office. You're the one saying everyone else is wrong after all.
Company's new playbook: Sugar-coating > skills. Gaslighting > genuine work. If your main talent is keeping your boss happy, maybe you and your boss should find new hobbies together. Millions are jobless here, but they are still bringing in workers from abroad? Doesn't add up.
not sue how it will help others
I don't understand why people are trying to spread misinformation.
Company policy is to be in office for the full 8 hours for three days a week. We are all required to badge in and badge out.
If you don't like these terms, you are free to go elsewhere.
I am amazed so many Visa employees are surprised at this.
In our building, even if we move between floors we are required to badge in and badge out.
The best strategy is to clock in early and clock out late, try to minimise lunch (ideally just avoid it, or have it delivered).
During one of the early layoffs someone in my org was let go because they were only coming in once or twice a week. Their manager and HR knew the exact percent of days they had been coming in and knew that there were many times they had badged in and out without putting in even half a day in the office. Whether the report that person's manager saw have a daily talley down to the minute or a summary doesn't really matter. They are tracking enough to know who is complying and punishing those who aren't coming in enough.
@162+1kbtpnk39 let me get this straight. You're saying they don't track time in the office, but also that they do track when we badge in and out, which would in fact be the time in the office since employees cannot enter or leave without badging? You're also saying the people on here, myself included, who have seen reports on employees we manage with our own eyes are somehow mistaken?
I suppose next you'll say that Visa doesn't track what employees do on company computers, they only log all the network traffic and keystrokes. You know, for privacy.
@13q again, daily time in office is not reported. Only badge in and badge out on that particular date.
@13q this is 100% correct. SVP get the detailed reports and will let managers know who is not meeting the requirements.
Our office requires us to badge in and badge out. Even if you're in a group, you must badge in and badge out individually. Badging is tracked and reports available to management.
@12 Privacy and security reasons, really? Quit talking out of your backside. We're talking about tracking badging, not accessing highly confidential personal data. The company already uses security as their excuse for having employees do it in the first place.
As a former director, I wasn't able to pull up exact timesheets to the minute in real time, but I did get regular reports on whether my employees were going into the office as expected. This meant both that they were going in the expected number of days and they weren't coffee badging. If any employee was in violation I was notified and I could absolutely get details on the violations I so wished so that in the event they needed to be written up or let go there were clear examples.
@tr they don’t report it for privacy and security reasons. Stop misinformation.
They absolutely do know if you are badging in to turn around and go home. That's the real reason they make you badge out to leave. It's not that complicated to figure out.
@n6 BS, daily time in office is not tracked, only days in office
I got pulled up by my manager on this awhile ago. He had a full report of my in office attendance for every single day that included times and all. Just assume that they know where you are and when you're there at all times. Oh and don't even think about attempting "lunch badging" (not doing a full day in office). That is especially frowned upon.
@f0 In NA, they run a badge report monthly. They have been doing this since they required us to come back 3 days a week.
I get constant reminders that the company policy is 3 days a week. We are all adults so no babysitting, at my location not going 3 times is a breach of contract. Do it at your own risk.
That's new!!!
What? Which location?
