I know of 3 people who got warnings today, and one of them was fired. Supposedly the one that was fired was averaging 4 hours per day and would leave after lunch. Seems like half of TIAA will be let go

All of you are fu#$&cking stupid. Spill the bean.
@k9 Many higher directors and others brag about their cars and boats unironically. I mean good for you, but it’s a disconnecting conversation
The harder Jamie Dimon gets on his company, T is going to follow suit. She knows she can’t make the company any money, so she can only cut costs through layoffs.
TIAA needs to focus on outputs and results.
Counting badge swipes or time in office is d-mb.
@k4 they are purposely not announcing set rules because they want to be able to fire anyone they’d like without having to pay severance. This is nothing but a play for layoffs to save the firm even more money so the top executives can buy another house, another car, maybe even another boat!
Any idea what is the actual criteria for getting these warnings? I mean, I don't spend just 2 hours in the office but sometimes take calls from home in the morning. Curious if the exact logic of these checks is known
Coffee badgering is address in the Code of Conduct training...
@am That's just plain stupid...smdh!!
@fc I barely see the execs in office
Tiaa needs to check themselves What a joke the exec team should be embarrassed what they are doing to this company. No actual policy and firing people over a non policy that is not enforced consistently. Lame excuse for firing people just to off shore their roles.
The badge monitoring got tighter when the Global Head, Integrated Facilities Manager arrive. Everywhere that guy goes, he assists with ruining good department/organizations. He keeps a low profile but manipulates executives to micro manage...then he moves on to another company.
@ad Yes it is.
@aq I don’t think there’s many full remote anymore, if there are, it’s a VERY chosen few.
@ad where do you live and what department were you in? Did they tell you how long they had been looking at your average number of hours in office?
@am I mean, yeah the many state at the company su-ks, but what grown adult with responsibilities can be so flippant about being unemployed?
Yes please report back, I’m curious
@OP what sites
@ar even 4-6. Everyone is mostly saying stay for 6 hours at least. To let someone who is clearly a top performer (since they got promoted) over a few hours here and there is ridiculous. This company is going to be sold for parts sooner than later
@ag "ad" did not say they were working 7 hours a day. They said they arrived at 7am.
what about the folks who are permanently remote and enjoying their life in low cost cities.
I will continue to coffee badge. I’ll let you know if i get fired. Idc
@ad if you were going in for 7 hours a day, and you still got fired then this has nothing to do with time in office. This is just a way they are letting high salary folks go in my opinion. That being said, I would say anyone who has been coffee badging should start going to the office full time for 3 days a week now. Not that it might matter, because I heard they are looking from the past 6 months. But I guess better now than never.
I was let go and I was coming in for about 4-6 hours a day. I would get to the office at 7 usually and leave by lunch. I know two other folks that got fired and did the same. I also was recently promoted , so it’s not targeting low performance. This is gonna cost TIAA more than they think
My manager has told me to stay around 6 hours when you’re in office.
Damn, they are cleaning house. Seems like it may be best to stay the whole day now. Bummer.
IT
@OP which department were they in?
