The role of the direct manager in the employee's raise and bonus
I really don't believe that the direct manager has nothing to do with raises or bonuses, as someone wrote here. Is it really possible that they don't have any influence over it? I'm asking for your opinion, although for now I'm almost convinced... — read more

The core reason for attrition is that loyalty is punished……
if you hire in new talent at a higher salary as the current internal employees, that in itself tells you that you are behind on the salary curve and in effect are punishing your employees for being loyal by not paying them the market rate.
Hiring process is completely bizarre
I interviewed with Citi in early June, 2 rounds of interviews and was told by the hiring manager that interviews would be wrapping up in the next week and I would definitely hear back, along with questions regarding my notice period and if I had any... — read more

Ask Jane anything.
What would you ask her?
Citi does not work you excessively…it depends.
Here’s my experience. I started work at 4AM all the way through 3PM, no lunch per se, just one apple. My blood sugar is irregular so a normal diet is preferred but for this day so far just one apple. Why no break, why no food? Lots of work came in... — read more

There’s lots of anger out there and it’s unwarranted. 1st: It’s a job, not a cult. It’s a means in which to pay the bills, nothing more. 2nd: Don’t fool yourself into thinking that Citi cares about you, they don’t and never have. You are only... — read more
