Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

Bogus posts…

you guys do know that there are people out there who aren’t even in the financial industry, who do nothing all day long but log into such boards as this and stir things up.

Every few months making a post of “layoffs in two weeks” and sit back and watch the chaos unfold.

Layoff’s won’t be so bad. Even after the fact, there will always be someone making a post here every few weeks of “layoffs are a coming” with no insight whatsoever. Just want to see their post making a stir.

Stupid post. Of course there are layoffs going on. It's in the news and we've had internal communications about saying goodbye to some of our colleagues. There's nothing fake about what's going on and I really shouldn't be wasting time responding to such absolute BS. Lol.

15-20%? You just pulled that % out of your a-s. That would be 40,000+.

Yes there are layoffs, they already laid off about 7k, but this is more a restructuring, they are moving people/groups around, combining orgs… and that means getting rid of MDs ( about 40 so far), and redundant teams/roles. Not a huge 20% haircut.

Not bogus if the CEO mentions layoffs during interviews. Just my opinion, given the fiscal year ends in November, I expect the first wave to happen end of November. I also think it will be between 15%-20% workforce reduction.

I'd believe this board over anything our management tells us.
