Layoffs are across the board

From everything that I read here and hear from colleagues, it seems to be the case. I know it’s anecdotal evidence, but performance rating played not much of a role in the selection. Which, hey, ain’t that much of a surprise. Some peeps are saying... — read more

CFS effected

CFS had the round of layoffs today. Canon USA has a really big problem. So top heavy. Way too many directions and vp. Most could be cut which would have saved so many people. CSA will be out of business by next year. Then everything will be... — read more

Getting rid of older, higher paid employees

That's what this layoff is all about. Showing the door to people who have been here for decades in some cases just to save a few bucks. Nobody is thinking about the institutional knowledge we're losing with them. Or that it will probably take at... — read more

Voluntary early retirement?

Is this offer a mutually beneficial strategy aimed at reducing costs by phasing out higher-paid retirement-age staff, or is it merely a precursor to another wave of layoffs?

Age discrimination through layoffs

From what I can see, the majority of people who were laid off are in their fifties and sixties. Please correct me if I am wrong, but from where I'm sitting, this seems to be true. If that's the case, isn't there a way to sue Canon? Age discrimination... — read more

Malfeasance in HR records

An audit of HR will clearly find how personnel records and cost centers were manipulated to obfuscate the data. Deceitful companies can not hide the truth.

Low Class Outfit

The place is a sh-t show. The layoffs that were done at the start of Covid were shameful---done over the phone in a group setting--cold, unprofessional--horribly executed. Treated like criminals. It sounds likes it only downhill from there.
