Seems like latest lay offs are racially biased.

Fun fact: It is illegal to let people go in Japan. They will simply be sent back and dealt with there. There will never be layoffs of expats here.
No ex-pats were laid off, but some were sent back to Canon, Inc. At the end of the day they all kept their jobs.
CUSA will NEVER lay off an ex-pat! This is culture and they will bring in 3 new interns to “try” and replace the monster employee(s) they just got rid of with 25-35 years of experience. All political .
The decrease in Americans vs Japanese was certainly noticeable in Melville today. Lawsuit waiting to happen
CSA sold off Hawaii customers a few months ago. This company is going down the toilets.
It's the beginning of the end for CSA.
Just a matter of time before portfolio gets sold off to dealers.
Print volumes way down. Customers downsizing equipment and purchasing at end of leases. It's been a tough market . Covid changed everything
They have been sent back early. I assume you don't read your emails when they notify people of going back. I'm not defending; I'm stating facts. And no, I'm not HR; I am an employee!
Wow! Why are you defending Canon so hard? You definitely drank the kool aid or you HR. Because the fact that they go back doesn’t take away the from the fact that none of them are being sent back early due to the restructuring. They only targeted the American workers and it’s very obvious!!! So stop covering up for them
It’s a restructure to fatten the executives’ wallets.
You do realize this post makes no sense. Japanese ex-pats belong to Canon Inc., not Canon USA. They are sent back to Japan, so please stop baiting this unfortunate situation and turning it into a race issue. It's called a corporate restructuring to help strengthen the company's future.
