What are the best alternatives to Boeing?

I think we can all agree by now that layoffs are coming. What I'm wondering is, what after that? Where will all the people go, considering that the entire industry is showing major signs of weakness? Is there a good alternative out there right... — read more

Max Cancelations

Airlines will want refunds for their deposits before they cancel. This is the route. It's why we haven't seen any cancelations. They need to build a case. https://www.ft.com/content/30a68cd4-c84b-11e9-a1f4-3669401ba76f

Blind company with no direction

Does anybody feel like Boeing is currently a blind company with no direction? At least that's what it feels like to me. Like we are all stuck in time, waiting to see what's going to happen, instead of actively working toward moving things our... — read more

Do you really think there'll be no layoffs?

Let me get this straight - there are people who honestly believe there will be no major layoffs at Boing any time soon? Is this correct? After everything that has happened? No layoffs? To be honest, I really wish I had those powers of denial... — read more

Boeing costing entire aerospace industry

This part of the article is especially interesting: Many in the industry seem to share this conviction—regulators will not, the thinking goes, jeopardise Boeing’s future because the company is too big to fail. Perhaps. But the faa, roundly... — read more

Why are we hiring temps?

There isn't enough work for us as it is right now - why hire more temporary employees? To create an illusion everything is okay? What's the point?

Form instead of content

I imagine f a person would look at Boeing from the outside it would look like a successful and stable company where work processes are developed and practiced to the highest level. To bad the truth is quite opposite. I’m working as a software... — read more

Any body been issued a CAM before?

I been issued one by HR three years ago. Does that pretty much guarantee myself being issued one of the first layoff notices? I'm hoping if layoffs hit Unemployment Benefits get extended up to a full five years after they first expire.

Heads up your asses people

Layoffs may not be planned for today. Tomorrow they could be told to execute on the plans they have that would include laying off. Get your heads out your asses and think.

BOEING WARN NOTICES

FYI - Boeing can issue warn notices on any date it wants too. IT IS NOT MANDATORY TO GO BY THE SURPLUS SCHEDULE. I got that from my HR generalist.

Article states Dennis signed on to this

Maybe until layoffs are actually announced they are just part of the big old rumor mill alive and well at Boeing. Is Boeing required to make layoff announcements at Boeing sites outside of Washington State? Why would any Boeing sites outside of WA... — read more

The downfall started with merge of Mcdonell Douglas

In fact, most of the board was constructed from senior board members of Douglas.. This is where the culture of Boeing changed. Build airplanes and design them with cheaper outsourcing. Stonecipher believed in this philosophy and Boeing continued this... — read more

Boeing is top heavy

Is the 15% cut in Management ranks? If not, it should be, including HR types, but 15% is way to low, make it 40%, that's a good start. Boeing is top heavy with to many Managers with not a lot to do. As for Boeing HR, why is there five levels of... — read more
