Layoffs may not be planned for today. Tomorrow they could be told to execute on the plans they have that would include laying off. Get your heads out your asses and think.

It’s a wait and see game. Obviously you no layoff believers at somewhat skeptical of your own beliefs or why would you be posting here?

I think there has to be layoffs at some point. Boeing will lose about 20 billion after all said and done. Ruin there reputation. I believe that they are hiring a bunch of people to get the planes back in the air. After Boeing catches up. Boeing will look at what they got and layoff. ( avoid having to pay the 5k to every union employee) most experts are expecting the 737 max grounding to last until early next year. Only boeing has high hopes for the 4th quarter. The biggest airlines that carry the MAX have pulled all flights until next year. That should say something. What a mess. I have a year in and expect layoffs
I doubt highly , they are going to lay off. Especially not with the hiring of several hundred of new employees. Even if they are temp employees.
Blah, Blah, Blah...everyone said Layoffs were coming...even gave a date. Yet here we are and no layoffs to be found. Now to spin it they say it can happen any time, well no S sherlock. But they didn't, you look stupid.
Can it happen, yes it can happen. But it is the union folks that should be worried, Boeing is smart, if they lay off a non-union person, that person will find another job in this economy and will not come back to Boeing.
A Union lemming will sit and wait for Boeing to call them back after they have been laid off. They have skills other employers can use, but they would rather s— unemployment and wait for Mother Boeing to call them back.
In the end, this is a temporary situation, Boeing does not want to make a permanent mistake by losing people to other companies. The union will NEVER have leverage until they think people will leave Boeing (can't build planes without them). Not once have they got back a benefit they negotiated away. Yet, people keep paying them money to be a member.
