Raghu‘s note sounds different

The tone changed. The close date is not even close anymore, no matter how often he mentions it‘s „soon“. The acquisition is falling apart.

New update

Status remains soon. That is all. Proceed with the rest of your day. You have permission to leave thelayoff to go do something productive. Examples include TicTok, YouTube spiral, Reddit arguments, updating confluence pages, and having self care... — read more

Gelsinger on Tower https://stratechery.com/2023/an-interview-with-intel-ceo-pat-gelsinger-about-intels-progress-towards-process-leadership/

How much of a loss was Tower in this regard? Because I think one of the things that was attractive to me about that acquisition was bringing in leadership that was used to being a Foundry, and even if they were more focused on the analog side of... — read more

RSU expectations versus Reality

I've been hustlin' in sales for over 23 years, reppin' VMware for the past 8, and I've been in that P5 groove for the last 5. Now, my colleague, a seasoned 12-year sales maestro, just scored a promotion to P5 in the last 4 months. But here's the... — read more

Broadcom not doing VMware any favors

The Register just came up with some research that 1 out of 5 VMware customers plan to move away from our software in the coming year. Now, of course, not all of this is Broadcom, our software is expensive, especially when it's run in a public cloud... — read more

Take it positively for delay

If you already have an offer, you have more time before starting working extremely hard in BC. If you don't have an offer yet, well, you have more time to prepare the job interview.

EUC BU Opportunity - Post Deal Termination

While the tech industry analysts have discounted the future of legacy UDM and VDI software, they're very upbeat about the growth potential of modern streaming apps. Once the AVGO deal folds and the EUC BU is spun off, the new PE owner can acquire a... — read more

How long can they legally hold onto shares

If there’s no hard date on the close, and they have all our shares tied up from the election, how much longer til they have to relinquish the shares? How is this even legal?

How soon is now?

Borrowing Morrisey and Marr lyrics: VMW: When you say it's gonna happen soon Well, when exactly do you mean? See, I've already waited too long And all my hope is gone. HT: You shut your mouth How can you say I go about things the wrong way? I am... — read more

Nov 26th d-day

So, this deal looks like it's toast. China isn't going to budge in the next 2 weeks and Hock + Raghu have already lost all credibility by claiming they were going to most definitely close on Oct 30 then revealing that it was all BS. Now, the... — read more

Self-inflicted disaster for Broadcom

I remember a lot of people tried to compare Broadcom VMware acquisition to the Microsoft Activision one. There is absolutely no parallel besides that they are tech acquisitions of historically large size. In the Microsoft-Activision deal, they had... — read more

Over the past month, on average 30 to 40% of my team call in sick everyday. Prior to this it was less than 5%. People just don't care anymore.

Severance medical coverage?

Any idea if medical benefits will be included in any future severance package? If severance is 2 months plus, shouldn’t we be in benefits open enrollment now to cover any post 12/31/23 time period?

BC severance policy

I’ve read where Broadcom’s severance policy is normally 2 months plus 2 weeks for every year of service. Can anyone confirm? After 12mo post VMware acquisition, severance values should improve, not get worse.
