We need the deal to go through since the VMware brand is already tarnished either way. Employee morale is going to be horrid even if this deal goes south and layoffs would still occur. Might as well make money on our stocks and GTFO as soon as we’re able

Does the deal matter anymore, when the primary asset has withheld its value?

If talent and intellect are the greatest assets of a software company, then the value of those assets is diminished when those skilled people are no longer actively engaged.

Therefore, what tangible 'goodwill' value remains when the workforce is alienated?

Are VMW assets, with or without AVGO, now damaged goods of lesser value?

"Why would Hock even show up in Barcelona if this wasn't a done deal?"

Eternal hope, from a fool who doesn't want to pay the Termination fee.

It's ironic because clearly AVGO can afford to pay, but Hock's ego won't let them.

Once the deal falls through the evil doers who collaborated with Hock will be exposed for wreaking products and not keeping valuable team members.

This site is as bad as the Slack channel.

Do we really need a poll every few minutes on what people are currently feeling?

None of our opinions matter, nor does anyone have any solid insight.

"I've heard that some product groups have been taking direction from Hock and changing strategy and staffing to focus on what Hock thinks will be money making plays."

Anyone who has any info on this should report to FTC and SEC. This is in clear violation of the US antitrust laws

I've heard that some product groups have been taking direction from Hock and changing strategy and staffing to focus on what Hock thinks will be money making plays. Once the deal falls through these product groups are going to have to deal with the lost expertise, lost customers and lost revenue that Hock caused them to lose. It will be a mess. Some of them won't recover.

“You filthy dogs! How dare you question the power and authority of Hock Tan?!@

was so awesome when he was as confident on Qualcomm closing in response to reporters questions on U.S. approval he showed reporters pictures of him and trump. Nec minute he was watching trump block the deal.

I can’t wait to watch him lose after all his show of unmitigated arrogance

Next step is for VMware to be sold to private equity where it will be sold for parts.
Michael Dell will make $1M for each of the 20,000 people that get terminated so he can get even richer.

The odds that the deal closes are inversely proportional to the number of times leadership uses the word "soon".

Guys just because we're all being kept out of the loop doesn't mean the deal is dead. Why would Hock even show up in Barcelona if this wasn't a done deal? It's going to happen. Maybe not on the timelines we all want, but I can't see any way it falls through at this point with all the planning that's been happening.

You filthy dogs! How dare you question the power and authority of Hock Tan?!

If Octane says he's confident, that means it's done deal!

If Octane tells a lying journalist to read it through and think it though, that means it's a done deal!

If Octane says the China holdup is a delay, that means it's a done deal!

If Octane says there is no legal impediment in the US, that means it's a done deal!

Do I make myself clear? Don't you ever spew any blesphemy against our God King Hock Tan or talk about national security or talk about how hideous his face is again!

I'm pretty much sure at this point that this deal is dead

I was very negative, assuming it would NOT go through, and seeing no change that would make me think otherwise. From beginning to end, this has been a comedy of errors.

I was fairly positive it would go through, but every day that goes by I get less positive.
