Thread regarding VMware layoffs

Enjoy the peace and quiet while it lasts

We're all getting the downtime we desperately need. Why can't we just enjoy the moment. When this deal goes through it's going to be he-l on earth for VMware employees. Not to mention we'll probably be the most hated employees in the BC organization. We should all just chill and enjoy the quiet while it last. In a couple of months we'll be begging to rewind the clock and have this moment of peace. The closer we get to January before getting layed off, the better. Why rush it?

And VMware’s largest customer is the US Military.

Your work is being used to bo-b people out of existence.

Get off your moral high horse

"I’d rather work for a company that is a possible national security threat than a woke-a-s company."

You don't say. The fact that anyone who is American but is willing to be associated with Avago should be a clear sign that they hate America or at least don't care about hurting the country if it means they get to have a job despite their incompetence and unattractiveness to other, better employers.

"Those that want a woke job, there's plenty out there, just not at Broadcom."

Funny coming from employee of a company that has been suspected of being a national security threat to the United States

"Keep in mind that their employees are mostly older workers, retired in place, with no ambition and no self-respect. Purely staying for the paycheck."

Haha you think it's easy do you? Everyone has to pull their weight. There are more reasons why more mature people are here, like not hiring juniors, no internships, etc. Those who are competent and ambitious enough to compete, they get exactly what they want out of the Broadcom job. Those that want a woke job, there's plenty out there, just not at Broadcom.

"You forget that BC software group has been exactly where we are and probably feel more empathy than you know."

They couldn't care less. Keep in mind that their employees are mostly older workers, retired in place, with no ambition and no self-respect. Purely staying for the paycheck.

And this one too:

"you'll become a corporate (w) hole... just put out and reap the rewards."

Thanks for proving everything right about how sh---y Broadcom is as a company since Singaporean Avago took over and Chinese Malaysian Hock Tan was in charge.

Hideous

"lmfao. i'm at Broadcom and frankly don't give a $#it about VMW, other than your margin contribution to the business."

That attitude along with all of the horror stories I've heard about BC is why I left and got another job. I've worked at my share of $hitty companies. No need to go through that again.

lmfao. i'm at Broadcom and frankly don't give a $#it about VMW, other than your margin contribution to the business.

I do have empathy for VMW pre-acquisition and understand what you're going thru.

but please don't put yourself in some special category of status. you'll become a corporate (w)ho-e... just put out and reap the rewards.

You forget that BC software group has been exactly where we are and probably feel more empathy than you know. Have bothered to talk to them and find out what it has been like? It’s brutal and only a means to an end.

All the corporate b*tches in here "picking up the slack". you're not going to be rewarded for it. You're not important, stop pretending anything you do at this company is. Brainwashed by the rich people who own it all to do everything they ask you to. Yes sir, of course sir.

Exactly! You will be a seperate franchise. Pull your weight so we can reach the corporate goal for our collective bonus and we will love you just like our teammates! We won't care about your loss of EPIC days (whatever that is).... You are coming to a strong team, if you make the cut and take pride in your work you will like it here. Yes, we all want Google and Meta like benefits but that train was never here. I'm retiring early from my time at BC and don't mind the BS, yes it is about the RSU's. I would rather not work 5 more years to enjoy the fruits of my labor and actually thank Hock for being an financially disciplined a-s!

No one in BC cares about VMware people.

You're your own business unit. You get a budget. There is minor interaction except with sales people.

You're not as a big deal as you think you are.

That's right. Broadcom employees are seething with rage that VMware subjugates don't have the same level of devotion to the God King Hock Tan. All shall pay for their blesphemy
