When do the stocks get released in e-trade for trading in either scenarios?
- Deal closes
- Deal does not close
In the second scenario, what is the best course of action? Sell immediately or hold?

I’m happy for people who sold a while ago. I am regretting not doing the same. My anxiety levels are sky high but there’s nothing anybody can do at this point.
I sold all of my shares at $166 and I'm happy. You can't always hit the top but I sold way above the bottom and that's good enough. Now I still waiting for my Nov 1 vesting that these criminals are holding back.
If I want to sell vested stock today, can I still do that? On my E*trade account, I see a message “certain transactions cannot be completed at this time”.
I sold all my exercisable RSUs previously at $162-165 and was disappointed when the stock reached $177+ - but now I'm just grateful that I sold it while I could.
Truly, I have empathy for all the folks who are still holding VMW shares. Perhaps you can make up any loss with other investments over time. If you're older, like me, then so sorry.
Hedge your VMW stock positions.
We are dealing with unethical peple here. So much for EPIC values.
soon is so relative man... like in the grand scheme of things, two years is soon compared to formation of the earth man...
No one knows timing.
But the release for 2023 vested but unissued shares would happen in the soonest of one of the following is how I read the grant agreement in ETrade:
2024 shares, well lets not even talk about those.
If you ask the bosses this the answer will be "fluid" or "soon" or "fluid and soon" meaning "whenever we want to but probably not soon"
“If it does not close stock will sink like a rock”
Yes, I’m aware. What would be the best course of action? I’m sure everyone who opted for Broadcom shares is beating themselves up right now but there’s no going back. I’m wondering what to do if the deal doesn’t close.
