Release the shares

It's amazing to me that the shares that have been locked up for (at least) a month are still in limbo. And, according to the stock plan coordinators, they "expect" to release them by Wednesday. No guarantees. How is this even legal?

Termination notices for Monday

What is the speculation here for US folks... do you think it's going to be one single email Monday morning or is it going to be throughout the day? Perhaps someone familiar with previous Broadcom layoffs can comment on how BC usually does this. .. — read more

Broadcom is buying the holidays

I’m hearing that, due to low margins and redundant operatinal costs, Broadcom will be buying Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Eve and consolidating them into one generic holiday to improve efficiency. Trick Or Treaters will be... — read more

It's not as bad as we make it out to be

Honestly, I was one of the people that was the most fervently against this acquisition (not that my opinion mattered at all). There are a lot of golden (and critical) posts I made here about Broadcom, Hock Tan, and acquisition that I am now not very... — read more

The email thanks specific group. Is it safe to assume EUC will see layoffs next week?

The reason offers were stopped

A record amount of employees declined offers that spooked BC. Solid performers at every level, including upto VP. Employee power!! FTW! You can't treat people like sh-t and expect to toe the line. People with any self-respect and competence are... — read more

Will you be with Broadcom in 1 year?

You should better ask question if you role/position is really critical for company growth. If you are developer or SME you are most likely safe and you will gain a lot of money by staying at Broadcom. Others will most likely be let go now or soon.

This would be nice

If they are going to lay off employees, it would be great if they do it in January in accordance with what VMware has been doing for years. Being laid off in January is much better than being laid off now when the hiring market is going to freeze... — read more

You may be surprised

You may be surprised at how much more efficiently and focused VMware runs under Broadcom with 50% less employees and the 20 years of junk cleaned out of the garage. CA’s software portfolio and business is cleaner, simpler and more coherent under... — read more

You're still not safe

Even if you got an offer, you're still not safe. If you're here after 12 months pass, then you can consider yourself safe. Until then, you still have a good chance of being shown the door. If you don't believe me, go read through the older CA... — read more

I was really hoping the deal would fail

I'm too old for this sh-t. I'm too old to be looking for a new job so close to retirement. I'm happy for people who are satisfied with this outcome, but for me, this is the worst possible scenario.

VMware was a dead man walking

We want to pretend it was still innovative, that multi-cloud and private AI are the future, that no alternative came close to VMware and the flagships Vsphere, Vsan, etc, Sub & SAAS transition and ARR going okay, well maybe. But there are better... — read more

Jumping Ship

The surge in VMWare license costs is bound to be comical. It's intriguing to ponder whether sizable enterprises will consider shifting to alternative solutions, but the question remains: what would be their destination of choice?

Raghu or M Dell
