I can get in now. Looks like the day-1 stuff is back now. Signed up for the webinars just in case they cover anything extra that might be useful. Monday is going to be busy!

Couple of interesting things in the acceptable use policy and the day-1 items:

  • No more personal phone stipend. Approved people will be provided with a corporate owned device. If this is the case, I’ll be unenrolling my personal device and will not be using it for work. Not sure how I’ll be able to setup the 2FA without some kind of device but not my problem.
  • Use of electronic communications outside of gmail. If we use this with customers, we are responsible for keeping a record of said communications. Looks like we won’t be able to use customers own Google chat / teams instances because we won’t be able to keep a record of it. Also its putting the responsibility on us for making sure that these communications are retained to Broadcoms standards.
  • No virtualization software may be used on any device without written approval by the security team. I guess will need to uninstall workstation and the Mac equivalent until we get an email saying it’s approved.
  • Lab environment. Not allowed outside of corporate environment. Not sure if this applies to home labs, however, with the move away from MS we’ll likely lose our MSDN accounts meaning that any give lab servers may not be legally licensed anymore.
  • Approved software. No unapproved software is allowed to be installed. I’m hoping that there is some kind of approved software list otherwise they go to be a lot of uninstalling that needs to be done. Perhaps a reformat and O/S reinstall might be the easiest way to ensure this.

I know some of these were the same with VMware but were not really enforced. I don’t know Broadcom, but I have worked for a company in the past with similar ethics to Broadcom and they had zero tolerance for these kind of things.

Login site works. Okta site requires a new password that will be emailed to your VMware ID.

OP here. I used to be able to get in but can’t any more. Not reading anything into this, just wondered if it was just me.

Not till Monday, further email instructions will be sent. You need the OKTA app to login but as far as I can see, any user that got in is showing as a customer in their profile.
