How many Vice Presidents we actually have?

I seen the hierarchy, its really absurd. Vice Presidents, Senior Vice Presidents, Executive Vice Presidents, Senior Vice Presidents, Senior Executive Presidents ... WTH! So many redundancies?

Notes from Normandale

As many of us, Sorry…. As a lot fewer of us Normanites expected the New Wafer Fab is going to be made weather tight and then idled for the foreseeable future. We were planning on running a 5 dollar board for the date when the first tool is... — read more

Missing Directors

During the most troubling time of my employment history where is my director. When announcements were made in April and May, where was he, on holidays. Now this week, when my career, my life and my families security hangs in the balance, where is... — read more

More redundancies for STST after the summer.

I posted this below on May 18th re STST layoffs after 'approx 100 jobs to go' was announced by Seagate PR department to the NI media. I was spot on with 228 applying. They knew more than 100 where going and 100 is simply a legal figure as regards... — read more

Track The SeaJet Anytime

You still can monitor the General's jet despite Seagate's efforts to poorly conceal its location. To circumvent this, employ the Hex Code: A4FAE8 instead of relying on the Tail Number. Access the tracking through OpenSky Network at this link:... — read more

Now that I've been gone for a while

I was laid off a few months ago and I can tell you that it truly turned into a blessing in disguise many often talk about. A lot of people (including me before the layoff) are stuck at Seagate because it's something they know and they don't want to... — read more

Dang It

Heard some hallway whispers at NRM today about a bunch of scrap being produced in wafer. Pushing HAMR to the right yet again, should by be fine…. Nope definitely not.

Will things get back to normal

Normally I would spend 85% of my workday tracking General Frosty as she lead by example at 30000 feet. Now that they found a way to block the Seagate Jet from the tracking sites I feel like a ship without a rudder. I’m left to aimlessly wandering... — read more

RIF to de-h

It looks like all R & D in XCO is out. The group manager had a meltdown during group meeting. Either he's out july 3 or we all are.

Will there be RIF after July 8 SAP go live?

Most IT staff are busy converting their systems from Oracle to SAP. After migration then, will they RIF us? I don't think the company will pay to retrain us for SAP.

No plans

HAMR is just a smokescreen right now despite what Heavy D and Beardy J are saying. So many issues that it won’t go mass production for atleast 3 years. Lyve being shutdown and no real plans for a systems business. A monkey can sell the older hard... — read more

Why so down? HAMR is in mass production!!

The turnaround of Seagate is here. Here come 100TB drives, we have increased prices, and we will all benefit. There will be enough for the investors, executives, and the rank and file!

Employee Experience Pulse Survey

Anyone else think it's shady that they waited until immediately after the Quarterly Meeting to launch the Pulse Survey? It's almost as if they were trying to trick people into thinking it was a feedback form for the meeting itself so that less... — read more

Big tech or Big gov issue?

What's the longest you've been unemployed?

Latest on HAMR?

I get it that on this site people are down on HAMR and STX. But…just wondering: Is there any chance HAMR can deliver? WD is struggling and does not have the equivalent of HAMR.
