Cuts will continue until they get it.

They generally work harder and take more abuse too. “Retiring” higher paid and less productive workers has been going on for a long, long time.
Yes, the company does want younger hires to keep costs low and that direction comes from the C suite, not from HR. Seagate hires a few hundred interns each year, but from there, not too many end up hired on as new grads. So I wouldn’t presume that the younger generation is taking over.
There's no future. Demand isn't going to surge back and Seagate will be caught broke with it's pants down and bent over.
All the young force are currently in Longmont..
If young people are smart they would stay as far away from Seagate as possible. Our executive team is currently selling anything they can just to keep paying dividends. Running up 6 plus billion in debt and no hope for income in the near future, We will most likely default on one of our corporate bonds in the near future. Dumping VP’s, Directors, and any other high compensation employees may have finally come to pass. After that it’s time shut down plants or the B word. Good luck everyone we are going to need it.
@psb+1 they should avoid this entire industry
Young people don’t want to work here.
@bvr - Unfortunately your formula is hamstringing groups into the one senior staff having to babysit junior staff and now nothing gets done. It might well be true that is the desired mix for HR but when you are trying to fast track a new technology into volume production, it's not the time to be spent on training and keeping Gen Z focused.
not just c-gate, wd similar, intern -> NCG -> exit senior engineers
Current there are too many VP and Directors drawing very high pay and taking alot of STX benefits for Directors and above.
Reducing 50% and cuting all the Director fuel and medical benefits would have alot of savings.
Rif all staff and above? Each manager should only have one senior staff and maximum 2 staff engineers. The rest can be senior engineer and below.
Age discrimination.
