It goes to show that they were planning more redundancies in the near future. FOD said he didn't know if there would be more layoffs. After this weeks announcement it proves that he did know.To the management of STST , please be honest with us.

Seems to me that, another RIF for MS at STST was on the cards after the original 68 , but , when they seen the numbers that applied they've just brought if forward....

The money makers get made redundant but the money makers keep their jobs.Good luck to those that are going. How many directors are getting laid off? How many office staff are getting laid off?

Capt is on the bridge, stirring his tea, as the water rises. Full steam ahead. Heavy D at front of ship, I’m king of the world! Who’s gonna be hanging on to the back of the boat when she goes down. Big breath!!!!

Does anyone know if it's true that they're planning to cut the corned beef and cabbage from the STST canteen?

They revised the numbers after the voluntary and hence have to start a new consultation period.

Nothing disingenuous about it at all.If they didn't get voluntary redundancies they would have made compulsory redundancies. They just didn't decide to lay off all the people that volunteered. It was a massive stroke of good luck for management that they received so many voluntary redundancies applications. The same numbers would have been laid off regardless of voluntary redundancies.

Shelved 1000 wafers to buffer, more operators leaving means less management have to go. Going to be a lot of moving and changing for people now. 28.5% of operators applied to go and have been accepted so what is the lifespan of STST now?

This is a bit disingenuous. After the number of MS that applied for voluntary, senior management have decided to increase the quota.
