When the speed is the main concern, that’s the end of HDD
The moment flash cost/gb and worldwide manufacturing capacity matches HDD - which seems quite far off at the moment - but where there is a will, there is usually found a way.
distinction is between existing and relevant; this industry will continue to exist but it won't continue to be revenant any more than tape exists today but it is not relevant
Tape drives are still around and sold.
