Thread regarding Seagate Technology Inc. layoffs

Time to go

Well, over 10 years, 3 promotions, and lots of blood sweat and tears given, I was laid off in June effective June 22nd. Decent severance package. Set me up to take some time off with my kid. And now Starting a new gig July 10th. I had hoped to retire from Seagate in a dozen years, but I was realistic knowing that I would likely be riffed beforehand. Watched a lot of friends get laid off. Well it is my turn. Seagate was good to me, even in being laid off. No hard feelings. You could have done better as a company but you were fair to me.

The c-gate management should be looking for volunteers. I know many, including myself, that have hands raised. Especially if it will allow one of the newer engineers to not be impacted. Maybe another verp round could help with cost savings and morale.

C-gate is running out of buildings to sale to pay the dividend. My guess is I have 6 to 12 months remaining before my salary is swept up into the next shareholder payout and I am walked to the door. Even if there was a turn around in the market, does c-gate have a viable product and the infrastructure left to meet the demand?

Best thing that ever happened to me was getting laid off. F Seagate and the spinning drive it dies on.

Longmont was sold. A fire-sale on all the buildings so Dividend can be paid to keep the stock up, the only asset this company still has.

Do not look back. Best wishes!

Good luck. Yeah. I think I’m right behind you. No sign of recovery. Looks like every building to be sold except Normandale.
