Maybe not as early as 2026, but I do see a day when the sole company manufacturing CD/DVD mechanisms will also own the last HDD product on the planet. I think they have room as they finally shut down their floppy drive line.

As long as Seagate can pay a dividend, execs get thier stock options and bonuses, and they can bleed the employees white (sorry, hope this is not against inclusion and diversity agenda), this shell company pretending to be a storage company does not go away.
