Do NOT Move to Houston!

If you're considering making the move to Houston, do not do it. It is next to impossible to get Homeowners Insurance here. I've gotten rejected multiple times and one quote is over $8k and requires inspection to confirm insurability. If you already... — read more

Feeling Optimistic

The prospect of redundancy is like being offered a lifeboat before the captain and crew have even realised they’ve hit an iceberg. And on a doomed vessel, that’s about the best outcome one can hope for.

How much does this all cost?

Wave 1 BUs are in selection paralysis. No one is working, just whispering in hallways and behind closed doors. The other groups are stopped watching the train wreck. How much does all this lost productivity cost Chevron? I wish it was just money. But... — read more

Contractors v Employees in ABU

I am currently contracting in the ABU. Does anyone know the plan for contractors? I recently came across some articles discussing the Fair Work Commission case "Helensburgh Coal Pty Ltd v Bartley," which involved a company making employees redundant... — read more

PSG 28+ in wave 2?

Is there PSG 28 + positions in wave 2? Or they have announced all the high level positions. For example, I didn’t see any details in finance or css, does it mean we don’t have other 28+ positions except the VP?

PSG 25 and below population

Does anyone know the current population of the 25 and below psg’s? Four days to have selection meetings seems like the powers that be would have most of the boxes penciled in.

Is this a sane way to run a company?

At well-run companies, poor performers are let go on a regular basis. Chevron is different. For a period of 4-5 years it’s impossible to get let go, no matter how much you are just phoning it in. Then, like clockwork, it’s time for a... — read more

Cramer?

What is Cramer's obsession with MW? He praises that he's amazing and doing great things. What has he done that is even remotely good? Is there something more going on here?

CVX return since MW became CEO

86% Compare that to any of the last 4 CEOs. Even JW was better. Remind me why we gave this guy an extension beyond 65?

$CVX down 20%

Remind me how much we contributed to R’s last election cycle.

Chevron Zombie Land

In three to five years, Chevron will be sold and gone. Bled dry by the LT and assisted by upper PSGs feeding the Zombie to keep their paychecks coming, while the worker bees will be run off or outsourced and the infrastructure will rot. The... — read more

AEOI’s

So far the AEOI’s I’ve talked to are not people you want to leave this company. I know this is my anecdotal experience, but there is a difference between losing people who probably won’t have a job and people who are going to leave a gaping void... — read more

Become friends with uncertainty

Resume writing meeting today was full with people scared and unsure about their future. Life is filled with uncertainties and we can’t run scared. rejections, layoffs, and etc are just inputs to the cycles of life. Just means, you have more... — read more

Pension Vesting for less than 5 years!

My AEOI package states that pension is auto-vested even if it’s less than 5 years of service! Excited for that, but cannot find it anywhere to see how much it would be. I’ve been with Chevron for 4 years now. Was hoping anyone here have any info on... — read more

Still giving it all for Chevron?

Don’t. They’ll bleed you dry, toss you aside when you’re no longer useful, and replace you without a second thought. All that experience and knowledge that took you decades to acquire means nothing to them. Stop wasting your time on a company that... — read more

Jobs Postings

So how are the jobs being posted, since they are not visible the traditional way of going to the jobs page on the Chevron intranet? I am not a PSG 25+, so I am just curious how the job postings are being coordinated. Thanks!

Is Chevron Sociopathic?

Here is how chatgpt defines a sociopathic company. Let’s discuss! ⸻ Lack of Empathy • Employees are treated as expendable. • Layoffs, demotions, or relocations are delivered with no emotional intelligence. • Personal struggles are ignored or... — read more

Things are looking up!

All of the hiring we're doing in Bangalore must mean the company's doing great! Right?

How many AEOI were accepted?

I have heard ~1,500 EAOI were accepted, unsure if that includes the 600 recently announced out of San Ramon. If this numbers are true, they are underwhelming. Quite a bit to go to get to the anticipated 6k-8.

Reorg but same incompetent leader

So, now we have seen the new high level organization charts, it looks like shuffling the deckchairs on the Titanic! Why can’t the BOD see the problem is not the structure, it’s the incompetent leaders that will remain in place. CVX keeps using... — read more

It would take years to replace international manufacturing in the US, plus there are no workers here for those jobs. You think US employers are going to pay US wages for that work… ? Clearly not when we’re all continuing to outsource... — read more
