Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

We made it matter - what a ride!

Just wanted to take a moment to thank the incredible people I’ve had the privilege to work alongside these past few decades. This has been a place of growth, mentorship, and genuinely rewarding challenges. I’ve had the chance to learn from some of the sharpest minds and most courageous people in the industry.

One thing I’ll carry forward most is pride in our culture. It wasn’t just about getting the job done — it was how we did it. The values we upheld, the willingness to collaborate, and the way we treated one another made this more than just a workplace. It was a place where people looked out for each other, where integrity mattered, and where feedback wasn’t just given — it was welcomed and acted upon.

I’m also proud of the impact we’ve had beyond our walls. Whether it was through contributions to the broader community, mentoring new talent, or supporting causes that matter — the company stood for more than profit. That sense of purpose and social responsibility made a difference, and I hope these values continue.

While it’s unfortunate how things are unfolding, I’m grateful for the time spent here and the lessons and experience I’m taking with me. These values have shaped me and made me a better person today than when I first stepped through that door and I know many others feel the same.

It’s never easy to say goodbye to a good thing and even harder when when it feels like my extended family, but I’m choosing to see this as a new chapter — one written with everything I’ve learned alongside you all.

Wishing everyone the very best, wherever your journey takes you next. Keep supporting one another. Keep building. Keep dreaming big. Keep achieving things once thought impossible!

OP must have written this in 2015. Almost all of that was true back then. Since that point, Chevron culture has decayed much faster than the camaraderie, to the point where self-preservation has replaced company spirit.
