Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Future merger with Exxon?

I’m thinking very shortly down the road by letting go of so many employees Chevron will end up merging with Exxon mobile. Usually when a company is going to merge, they reduce overhead. Any thoughts?

I wouldn’t think so with Exxon’s market cap around $445 Billion to Chevron’s $235 Billion. BP is at $75 Billion, much more doable!

Why would EM want anything at cvx? No growth potential whatsoever.

I worked for EM. They have way better work habits and decision making skills the folks at CVX. It wouldn't be a good fit.

If Hess has 3000 people and Chevron is buying the NOJV assets, why does Hess need 3,000 people to operate a NOJV. Talk about bloated as they merge with Chevron. Another layoff in 2027 for those that remain. :(

S merger would certainly help clear up the Hess dispute. If we merge with Exxon it will be a complete blood bath for Chevron’s employees as it will not be a merge of equals.

Low IQ comment. The two super majors merging? Never gonna happen. Ever heard of the FTC? you clearly lack experience.

Hess is very lean about 3000 employees. Most of what cvx paid for in this deal is for non operated Guyana asset. CVX will do well next year. Survivors will enjoy couple of good years until next round. Good luck everyone.

Don’t think so, we’re about to couple with Hess and that will bloat the numbers again so we can do another reorganization in a few years
