Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

So how long until cvx crashes and burns?

What kind of projects will cvx even be able to execute?

Exploration? Completely gutted already with no ability to find anything if value at all, so no future whatsoever.

Existing developments are dying on the vine and in terminal decline. And we're on the hook for abandonment as these fields die.

Even if we do discover something worthwhile, how are we going to develop it? The talent has been slashed to bits, the institutional knowledge gone. Id--t yes men out of India are not going to have the know- how to execute the future of chevron.

So, how long? 5 years? 10 if we're lucky?

Everyone needs to calm down. This reorg is fundamentally changing the company but we won't see those impacts from an investor standpoint for 3-5 years. In fact, assuming stable commodity prices, CVX is going to have crazy good years in the short term.

Don’t hold your breathe. CVX is too big to fail. Cockroaches live forever.

There was a company with a ticker HERO.
They went from HERO to ZERO....
If CVX continues this trend, then it will go towards ZERO...

The USA is now viewed as a Rogue state by other countries. It has rejected established international laws and norms, engages in aggressive foreign policies, and is seen as a threat to global stability. No wonder everything is getting offshored.

Chevron is still one of the world's largest oil companies, producing 3.3 million bpd. Investors love CVX. CVX isn't going anywhere; the only thing disappearing is US jobs and assets.

"We have to believe this is going to work this time!" CVX is too stubborn to realize the problem is at the exec level. I.e. the IMPACT process has gotten us where? 3rd/4th quartile results... But we have a solution! keep the IMPACT process, keep the same brain dead leaders, just send it over to India so its cheaper on payroll. Ridiculous! That TPE call last week was upsetting when the leaders of the org could not answer the roles and responsibilities of some of these positions... hate to see a company I used to respect and enjoy working for fall in such a sad way

The Company might end up as simply a holder of a portfolio of non-operated JVs with a very small staff to manage the royalty checks.

Not long - I predict 2 years max. Permian will be on on decline next year after over exaggerating effective acres for years, Tengiz, even if concession renewed, will not be great terms and Australia going so green it will be back in the dark ages. Other offshore and assets don't amount to anything long term. MW knows this and is pairing us down for sale. Such a tragedy we allowed a downstream cut cutter drive us into the ground.

It’s gonna take the amount of time for bi--h boy MW to cash out in TX with zero income tax and ride off into the sunset back to Cali. Let’s hope a tornado hits just one floor of that luxury condo.

This company is circling the drain. MW is an accelerationist. His goal is to strip CVX down to the studs and prepare the husk for selling to XOM. If this wasn’t his objective, what would he be doing differently?
