"A good mix of quality gas and oil projects"
Reading one of these threads I saw that there are those who agree that the company has a good mix of quality gas and oil projects. Is it possible that someone actually thinks that? Really? I never would have agreed with this, but I'd like to hear... — read more
Oxy, down the toilet again
Please put us out of our misery.
I can't go back to WFH
Not because I don't like it but the opposite. It took everything I had to continue coming to the office as soon as people started returning because my manager indicated that doing otherwise would not be looked upon favorably. If I were to go back to... — read more
Expectations on WFH?
I think many people want to work from home after the VH email, but are worried on a functional level ie how it will be perceived by their group (I.e supply chain, or land senior management). I guess my question is, are there different expectations on... — read more
WFH?
Who is planning to WFH again that has been coming to the office since June?
Back to WFH thru end of October!
Well done, Oxy! This is a good call.
I hope there will be no layoffs
What are the latest rumors about layoffs? Are there any? I’m getting bored of hearing stories about vaccines and WFH, and I share an opinion with a person who says that anyone who thinks there won’t be layoffs is naive. However, all the talk about... — read more
So explain to me..........
President Biden just said he was starting a commission to over see Oil Companies to make sure the price of gas goes down when the price of oil goes down. He is also calling on OPEC to produce more to keep the cost per gallon down in the US. You would... — read more
I don't get some people
Several people I talked to said they'd be willing to quit if they are required to return to the office full time. Why is that suddenly such a big issue? It's not something new and inconvenient they're implementing, it's just a return to normal. How... — read more
2nd Qtr Earnings report
Slides for tomorrow's call have been posted. I know the haters and malcontents are going to contort themselves to find something bad, but overall this has been an amazing quarter. Exceeded financial guidance across the board. Record efficiencies... — read more
job postings
I’ve seen a Sr. Geophysicist position advertised for months. Are these advertised positions something Oxy actually plans to fill? I’ve stopped applying at some companies when I see posts out there forever. Tells me they’re not serious about hiring... — read more
Please Extend WFH
With the rise of the delta variant in Houston, why hasn’t the company allowed WFH full time again?
Vaccination
How long before OXY requires us to be vaccinated against COVID.
What info does IT collect from your computer?
Will IT collect your bank info If you connect to your bank account using OXY computer?
Extend WFH
With hospitalizations up and ICUs nearing capacity I hope Oxy reconsiders the September 7th return to work. And to all the naysayers consider the following: this is not about COVID. If you are in a car wreck, have a heat attack, stroke anaphylactic... — read more
Quality of life
How many of you realized that Oxy took over your entire lives at some point? And at what point did you realize your quality of life was more important? Did you find it difficult to scale back? I've been trying to reestablish some work/life balance... — read more
Does Oxy IT dept reflects what’s going on with the company
Totally chaos and tickets that never close. Nobody seems to really care. The good professionals we used to have were smart enough to take the VSP. No direction and low morale. The few remaining are overworked and demotivated.
Occidental Leads O&G Stocks Lower as OPEC Peace Deal, Covid-19 Fears Strike
Investing.com article on Yahoo. Brilliant. Nothing leads anything lower than Oxy and the people who work there.
Is Oxy still inclusive of experts?
Please don't get me wrong, I am always for inclusiveness and diversity. However, it seems to me that the company has become the least inclusive for professionals. As if everyone else is more welcome here.
Sacrificed personal time for the company?
This is somewhat understandable, however, I have noticed that there are people who brag about sacrificing their personal time for this company because it shows their commitment and makes them look like hard workers. What did that sacrifice bring you?... — read more
Delta Variant
Can we go back to WFH now that the CDC has said they were wrong to say unvaccinated people can not wear masks? Also, vaccinated people are still getting sick.
This is becoming ridiculous
Our team has been so overworked lately that we have completely lost any work/life balance - all we have left is work. I'm having issues dealing with it and I'm in my twenties and single. I can't imagine how my older coworkers with families are... — read more
Letter to CEO
Who else is ready to sign a letter saying we are not going back in the office? Not sure about you all but we (Rockies) had been told for months any possible office time would be "hoteling" when needed. We deserve WFH if we can do it. Let's get this... — read more
Anyone else get out at triple digit stock price?
Anyone else leave Oxy and cash everything in at 104 stock price and still laughing at the current employees who can only come up with message board typos, 'ok boomer' statements or how proud they are of Piper Alpha to make them feel better? Lol.
They deal with minor issues instead of solving real problems?
Leadership at Oxy deals with all the side things more than what they really should be dealing with. Just my two cents. Real problems are piling up, and they deal with things that are absolutely not important. That's because they have neither the... — read more
Working at the Office
So far, it seems like it has been a huge waste of time for most of us to come back into the office. Most employees that I interact with still prefer to meet over teams rather than in person. Also, considering the 610 north exit from 59 is closed AND... — read more
