Quality of life

How many of you realized that Oxy took over your entire lives at some point? And at what point did you realize your quality of life was more important? Did you find it difficult to scale back? I've been trying to reestablish some work/life balance but have not been successful yet.

Those Boomers are the ones who put in the hard work, commitment and sacrifice to provide for your privileged balanced life. Hunger and uncertainty are great motivators, obviously something you nothing about.

That’s right. Don’t listen to boomers or anyone else that doesn’t support your current opinions. Only listen to those who agree with you. If you could limit your interaction to only those who your age and have similar interests, that’s better. And don’t ever seek advice from anyone who might have learned a few things through experience, real life training is not as important as your opinions. That’s the best advice a young man or woman could ever receive. Is that what you were taught? If so kudos to your parents.

Don’t listen to these boomers who have taken over this website. I have found myself in the his situation at several points in the past. Burnout is real and if not ameliorated can drag down your work performance. Some ideas to consider.

1) First and foremost, make sure all of your responsibilities are covered and your supervisor is happy with your performance.

2) Time to reevaluate all those meetings on your calendar and remove yourself from the ones that are not directly related to your daily duties and that you are not a regular contributor to.

3) Drop any extracurricular committees or organization responsibilities you may have picked up.

4) Don’t stay online past your normally scheduled hours, if your days work is complete, just because colleagues or supervisor is still on.

5) If your role is not 24/7 mission critical turn your phone or work notifications on your phone off after hours and on weekends.

This should be enough to get you started.

Oh how you must miss those college days when you could stay out all night long and sleep till noon. Mommy and Daddy took care of all your financial needs and you felt so free. Welcome to being an adult with real responsibilities.

You are spoiled rotten. You are getting paid quite well to have your life taken over. Grow up and just look forward to retirement.
