Thread regarding Occidental Petroleum Corp. layoffs

Please tune up the kayak!

Any prediction on when Vicki will finally paddle her kayak off to the glue factory?
Because the stock will pop and money could be made on call options. That is the only thing that will move this stock much above $30 since $75 oil obviously isn't doing it. I remember before the devastating APC deal, the stock was trading in the $60s-$80s in this oil price environment. Thanks Vicki for destroying all the employees’s 401(k)s - what a talent!

@iews, sound like you were too stupid to manage your 401(k) investment properly. Hopefully you bought lots of Oxy stock over the past year so can reap the gains from $10 to $30 and beyond.

Y'all sound shocked. Its Oxy, not Chevron or Exxon. You'd be working for less of a clown at McDonalds.

Right or wrong, most of the employees don’t work in finance and don’t pay much attention to their 401(k), and that will never change no matter how many newsletters are sent out. Oxy management chooses to match 401(k) contributions in Oxy stock and then proceeds to make a stupid acquisition thereby ki----g the stock price. Net result is the employees suffer dearly.
At least the 401(k) policy should have been changed to ‘match in cash’ once Vicki was put at the helm - she has low IQ and no concept of risk! Chazen would have never driven the company into an iceberg!

The dividend at ,75 dollars a share was really a nice benefit four times a year. Why not leave some money in this stock. After all Oxy would never fall to the point where they couldn’t pay the dividend. They told us the dividend was the highest priority.

I was brave enough to sell every chance I got those LTIs. Put that money towards paying my mortgage. But I know it is not the same for many, most of my coworkers that didn’t bother selling thru 401K or LTIs or thought Oxy will never drop this far. So, 401Ks it is one’s responsibility since we can’t trust the ones on top will be held accountable

Some people had the foresight to not keep Oxy stock in their 401k. It seems that not betting on the company was the right thing to do from a financial point of view.
