WTI is now crossing 33 mark. I am thinking whether it was a hasty decision by HAL to cut all those experienced tech employees who may not return to HAL again if needed in near future.

Its been three weeks already. Lot of water has passed through. On May 5 phone call, HR told me it would take 2-3 weeks to get the package. Didn't see anything yet. May be too much work to process by leftover people.

I am wondering for last few weeks, the big bang of lay-offs has happened mostly in HAL in compared to others like Baker or SLB. Any idea why is that? One reason could be the mismanagement by the executive members. But is that all?

Are there any efforts to right size our C suites compensation, to bare some resemblance to the reduction in activity which the rest of us have been effected by?

Does anyone know if you can receive unemployment immediately after receiving the lump sum severance and WARN pay, or will they hold off until your specific “weeks” have passed before unemployment kicks in? Has anyone been down this road yet?
