Thread regarding Halliburton Co. layoffs

The beginning of the end for Halliburton

https://www.shell.us/business-customers/trading/clean-energy-solutions.html. As you can see all the surviving Oil majors are already diversifying to other forms of energy. What is halliburton doing? Digital Solutions , ICrusie, RIO??? The end of halliburton will not happen because we run out of oil. It will happen because of too much oil. One day NB will be just a couple of buildings. The rest of the campus will be leased to Amazon. Guys, get out of there as soon as you can. Do not make the old farts running the company richer while you guys work for peanuts.

Are these other companies diversifying from a technology perspective, or a PR perspective to attract institutional investors?

What marketable products/services are they producing in so-called green energy? What percentage of their capital spend is devoted to it?

If the point is to hedge against a supposedly declining long-term O&G trajectory, and it's not about PR, then why not expand into any of the myriad of other business sectors?

@kgr+15CWFkd8, BS. Did you read Schlumberger's press releases? They have created a new clean energy division. When I go to the side of my house and look at my power meter, it is made by Schlumberger. They are diversifying. Yes, O&G service companies will always service the upstream O&G sector but there will be less and less of that as time goes on. There are opportunities to build better solar panels, harness energy from tides and rivers, etc.... Halliburton leadership have tunnel vision and that will be their demise. Even Baker has diversified to environmental services where they fly drones over locations and detect hazards, etc... Read up and learn.

Because the majors can continue to do all the business they are doing in the oil/gas sector and expand into other energy-related businesses without affecting the former. HalCo is an oil/gas service company. They specifically service customers in the oil/gas industry. Are you proposing that they expand to include windmill services? How did that go when GE wanted to keep selling refrigerators, light bulbs, and turbines and also do oil/gas services?

If you want green energy in the oil/gas sector, here you go:
