Technically, employees are to be judged based on their performance, not their relationships with a manager, right? I'm still here after 3 layoffs at my plant Carrollton, TX. However, someone of the good employees have been let go. I'm not sure what the criteria is for being laid off. Can someone tell me what it is? Some of the people still here have lied about their timesheets, have minimal work, or have poor attitudes. They are however friends with the managers. I don't really kiss the manager's tail so I believe I will be next.

Family, neighbors, and childhood friends get priority to hang on the longest unless stated otherwise.
Hell yeah they play favorites. I've literally told employees I have nothing to work on but my manager loves me. I've seen some hardworking people leave while I sit on my a– collecting paychecks. Sorry s—ers.
There's a list for ranking employees in a department (performance based). It weighs heavily into managers responses when getting calls for names.
Are any of the GE managers left in Carrollton?
You bet they do! Even if you are the lowest man on the totem pole- if you’re buddies with your manager he will choose others more qualified for layoffs
Wait till you show your manager and admin that you know more about company policy and how to cut costs. Does that make you a better employee I don't think so.But I did it anyway and got cut. Then had bigger friends in Houston and Duncan calling me asking what I did and they were shocked. Can't work for jerks like that (Carrollton,Tx )
Tell that to the ones we just lost in my dept all of them were the lowest paid Employees. They kept the ones that make too much money.
I've found during times like this when cutting cost is essential, it really has more to do with your salary. Higher paid individuals tend to be cut more than lower paid ones no matter what the skill level.
It all depends on what manager you have. Some go by the book others like to protect the boot s—ers. Trust me you know what kinda manager you have. Also trust me when I tell you that every single person in your department has a rank. The further down you are will determine When you get it.
