How is Collateral Management

I received an offer as a Full-Stack Senior Associate on the Global Collateral Management Platform called access edge. Is this a good platform to work on?

I have a few years of experience as a full-stack engineer but was laid off so I need a job. I found this forum and it scared me a bit.

What salary is typical for a senior associate in PA or FL? I'm able to pick between the two locations. Not sure if my offer is low or I was just expecting more. No mention of a bonus. is there a bonus for senior associate engineers?

Niagara Bottling will lay off 85 employees at its bottling plant on Northwest 42nd Street in Ocala, according to a notice issued to the state.

Most of the layoffs are effective Dec. 31, 2025; however, some employees will stay until March 31, 2026.

Disgusting

Certain employees are being laid off due to the location strategy in Florida. However, Summers, Gindi, Ta, Craven, and several other executives will be operating from West Palm Beach for tax advantages. This represents a clear double standard and is a significant affront to all of us who are facing job losses.

Florida issues H-1B visa warning

" H-1B, it's become a total scam," he said. These companies game the system. You have some of these companies that are laying off large numbers of Americans while they're also getting new H-1 Bs and renewing existing H-1 Bs. A lot of times people used to say: 'well you know we're getting the cream of the crop from all around the world.' The reality is that's not actually what H1Bs are, most of them (H-1Bs) are from one country, India, there's a cottage industry about how all those people make money off this system".

New HQ Locations?

Maybe I’m just completely out of the loop, but there are some job postings on the external career site that are in random locations. One in Dallas, one in Salt Lake City Utah (assuming that one is the bank), and the third in West Palm Beach, FL? What’s with this?

More Cuts at GDIT

On August 18, 2025, GDIT submitted a notice to the Florida Division of Workforce Services indicating an upcoming mass layoff at its Doral, Florida facility, impacting 151 employees

This notice triggered scrutiny under the federal WARN Act, which requires employers with 100 or more employees to provide 60 days’ advance written notice before conducting a mass layoff or plant closure

Hurricane Season

For those of us still in South Florida, hurricane season is here ! The Forecasters are predicting some big storms this fall with a couple of potential direct monster hits to Florida east coast. How many days will Boca be closed with the storms and it makes no sense to have a critical facility for disaster recovery in hurricane alley. Can’t get everything moved to the cloud fast enough before the layoffs storms hit.

Jet Update - October 4th

It's been a a month or so since last update. I would say not heavy travel, but all on just one jet. The prior weekly DC trips seem to have stopped.

N73M:

  • A short loop flight (test?) in New England based out of Springfield, MA

Hasn't flown since Sept 8th.

N83M:

  • Day trip to Ft. Lauderdale, FL
  • Overnight to Costa Rica
  • Overnight in Atlanta then day trip to Ft. Lauderdale.
  • Day trip to Las Vegas
  • Overnight trip to Austin
  • 2-night trip to Chicago

N93M:

  • No flights since last update. Still on ground in St. Paul.

Note: When the jets get sold and have new tail numbers I won't immediately know it. It is much like a car getting a new license plate when it is sold.

2018 Syniverse layoffs - about 300 people (15%)

This week, Syniverse has internally announced laying off 15 % of its

employees, worldwide. That means 300 employees are affected. The

layoffs mainly happen in the US (Tampa, Florida) and India,

although other locations are affected, as well.

In related news, just a few months ago, Syniverse internally

announced to close down its mobile roaming data clearing house (DCH)

development center in Rüsselsheim, Germany until the end of 2018.

This amounts to laying off another ~ 65 employees.

This follows the previous layoff of ~ 40 Syniverse operations

engineers in 2016, also in Rüsselsheim, the 2017 shutdown of the

Syniverse A2P office in Würzburg, Germany (~ 60 employees), and

the constant layoffs in other Syniverse offices around the world

Syniverse is well known for since it's owned by the Carlyle Group

(a private equity corporation).

As always, Syniverse management plans to off-shore the work done

by the laid off engineers to remote locations like India and

Costa Rica. It's confident that this disruptive reorganization

doesn't impact the service-level agreements with existing

customers and magically leads to a path of ultra growth and rapid

innovation (executed by newly hired and inexperienced engineers).

Giving the history and current developments, it's likely that

Syniverse will also shutdown its last remaining office in

Germany, Bonn in the next 1 to 2 years. Followed by Europe

Headquarters in Luxembourg in 2 to 3 years.
