Thread regarding Imperial Oil Limited layoffs

Existing site based non-wage positions are also affected.

From another thread:

900 Calgary campus employees gone. The remaining folks will be shipped to the manufacturing sites primarily Strathcona (Edmonton).

Some site folks (non wage) are to be replaced by higher performing folks from the Calgary move. Redundant positions especially in the mid to higher CLs at the sites to be replaced with Calgary folks that have been working global roles.

Wow.
I was offered a job with Imperial earlier this year... I'm sure glad I didn't take it. Dogged a bullet.

@a6 you should ask your manager.

My manager also confirmed this when I asked for clarification (site-based).

I wonder then, so do site people also get asked if they want to stay or volunteer for severance? Or is that only Calgary that gets the option because of the relo?

Newfoundland boy did elude to this…

If all your experience has been site-centric (at site all of your career) and someone with a lower or same CL with a broader and global exposure can do your job then you can get replaced.

No one is safe.
