I think we should all get together and stand up to WD management and let WD know that if our co workers get let go, we're leaving too. I'm tired of seeing my colleagues fall and no one is willing to pick them up.
A journalist here
Poking around. Can someone summarize what's happening at WD as it relates to layoffs?
PNS will be closed and moved to Thailand

People laid off in my department are, on average, about 10 years older than the ones who stayed. Any other departments have the same?
Hi, in my department the people laid off are older than the ones who didn't get laid off. Federal law outlaws age discrimination, but it's so obvious in the tech industry, as documented by Forbes and so many other publications. What are you seeing in... — read more

What is your opinion about forming a union to protect our profession?
How are we high-tech engineers any different than university professors, airline pilots, nurses, etc that get protection from corporate greed through their unions?
May 2016
The major wave of cuts will take place in May as it was reported here earlier, we are looking at about 4K headcount reduction, that's a far cry from what was discussed here before (30%)
