Almost everyone told me May 4th will have impact on FIT. I cannot get confirmation from managers but the suspicious thing is that we suddenly had 2 meetings set up on May 4th with managers.
Regarding the WARN notices. You can't really use those. The one for June 17 that was mentioned was for those laid off on or about April 15. WD keeps those laid off on the official payroll for two months (though you no longer report to work) so that they can give notification of the layoff two months in advance and yet not give employees extra notice. Sounds bad, but then again you do get two months pay in addition to the severance package.
I found another job and left WDC @ Irvine in Oct 2015. I feel really bad for all my former all my former colleagues as well as my old manager. My Manager was an all around nice guy.
Having said that, it seems that managment will continue to keep they butcher train rolling as the next official day will be 6/17/2016. WDC has already release the numbers of employees that will be axed. Looks like 71 employees from SJ Office will be the target.
Here's the Warn Site (clink on the link to the PDF and search for Western Digital):

Best of luck to everyone!
Singapore branch seemed to be in action. Maybe retrenchment or even closing down.
Which locations are impacted by layoffs? Irvine, Santa Ana, San Jose? Is May 4 the date?
The eye of the storm today. Tomorrow and the day after the storm hits.
No point in waiting to find out. Even if not laid off in the next couple of days, it's likely at some point not too far off. Everyone should just start the job hunt now regardless of what happens in the next few days.
It's gonna be a brutal week and Irvine will get nailed. Just take a deep breath...tick tock tick tock....it sucks waiting in the dark to find out.
