top management will be discussed with the unions this morning to discuss the amount of compensation to be paid. results will be announced on the same day. What is certain, PNS will discontinue operations. it definitely. no longer lifeline for civil servants. Please persevere with this very tough decision. Each machine will be moved to thailand in stages and is expected to be completed before August. PNS only memories and will be buried ... all attempts so far only futile only.

Reason from top management is weak demand trending in future..... R.I.P PNS.

top management has already made a decision on the closure of the operation. After 4 years of operation, PNS will be closed and moved to Thailand. These are some of the steps that had to be taken in order to achieve the cost saving targets. These are some effects of the merger between WD and Hitachi. Delegates top management will arrive in Penang tomorrow. A big announcement will be made. The situation is getting critical.

Yes. PNS will be closed down. All machines and facilities will be moved to Bangpa-In, Thailand.

Philippines plant (HGST) is better than PNS in quality and cost.

Tomorrow is the judgment day.

Waiting for big announcement from KC.

Makes sense. In head operations you have; wafer -> slider -> gimbal assembly -> stack assembly.

Wafer already consolidated operations to 2 factories (closed Odawara). The rest of will do the same. I hear most slider for HGST is done in Philippines and for WD in Thailand and that Penang wasn't running much volume. Probably took them long to make the decision because of tooling, capacity planning.
