I think we should all get together and stand up to WD management and let WD know that if our co workers get let go, we're leaving too. I'm tired of seeing my colleagues fall and no one is willing to pick them up.

sorry to hear these stories, its heart breaking even though if you don't know the person and you reading this on this forum..
i heard at WD&hgst, they laid off some rookies(around 23-26yrs old) just so WD doesn't "discriminate" against age. politics smh. how much does the company actually save? not saying they should let anyone go, young or old, junior or senior..
one of my friend has been impacted by this Lay off. Sad part is she has given her life to WD. Infact, she played a big role during 2003 petition , and fought for RR employee to get there Job back. She was always been a superb performer. and prioritized her work . she basically loss everything. marriage, had cancer and now , trying to fight another sickness because of stress that she has to endure during integration. Oh here's the sad part. she was the only one who got axed in her group. and the rest were all have to stay for a new job. only woman in her group, above 40 , cancer patient ...and I can smell lawsuit. so obvious , this is discrimination .
Unfortunately, that will never happen. People that are lucky and stay have families to worry about. We who are laid off also have families, too, but we were hit.
It is so unfair that they laid people off, while the Management make all the money, bonus, etc.
Unfortunately unless there is a union, the little people will always suffer.
I agree that employees should walk out just to support those who are laid off, even if it only for a day, call in sick, take vacation time.... Just demonstrate, that what they are doing is wrong.
As you all probably know, most of the WD are being hit, HGST not much.
Anyway, those who remain, will have to make a choice when the lease expires in Irvine, Headquarters will be HGST in San Jose.
None cares about the foot soilders - not WD - not STX .... It sucks & the ceo f*** the company & emloyee ....
why bother sending an email when you can be ignored. cant we just post up outside like how Verizon workers did. youll be more recognized

I have always thought the way to do this is to write the Board of Directors directly. But how to do that? Contact info seems purposely hidden.
