Wondering what is worse: Stay and do the job you don't like or leave, face reality, and risk for a better opportunity in a dry market. No trolls please. Down-to-earth comments are welcome.

Demographics of posters on this board
It's clear there are posters who are eager and excited about rumors of a layoff. I would say 90% of the posts are of that nature. So would employees who dread a layoff really be posting all this negativity. I doubt it. These fear mongers are probably... — read more

Side gigs
I see lots of posts on this site hating people with side gigs. It is very much legal in California as long as it does not interfere with your day job and you are not working for the competition. Last time I checked Q was not in the RE or RE related... — read more

Modem QCT impacted as a whole or only some segments?
I haven't been keeping up with everything, but is entire modem impacted, or only IOT/handset? What about RFFE/Automotive?
Lists bring revised again
Layoffs on Oct 11th is unlikely as the list is undergoing more disruptive revisions. Apparently, revenue projections are putting more pressure on cutting opex further.
High cost area
Learnt from a Q Shanghai colleague, Shanghai is classified as a high cost area and a heavy cut is planned. Initially, we thought a high cost area meant Bay area or NYC, but it seems this time the bar is set surprisingly low.
Stop spreading false rumors! There will be no layoffs on Oct 11
The Apple deal removed the need to headcount reduction
Persevere
It really IS darkest before the dawn. Stay flexible to new opportunities. Sometimes it takes a push out of complacency to get on to better things in your life. I don't know about a year from now, but it's almost a certainty that 5 years from now... — read more
Safe team?
Is there any safe team? Auto? GPS? Just trying to comfort myself and keep updating my CV.
Previous employee!!
I can't wait to see (via LinkedIn) if management in my previous department gets the boot! The job market isn't good right now. I will get some satisfaction from seeing them struggle, like the rest.
When will management show backbone?
When will the management get rid of slackers who are not motivated to work because of focus on passive income from rental properties or spending time advertising realtor business? Is the management itself motivated or are they slacker, too?
Can't they just move us all to Auto and Apple and avoid layoffs?

Q realtors
Over the years I saw so many hard working engineers were laid off but Q realtors who post ads in Q mail list are still there, bringing clients to house watching during working hours. Can anyone explain what was going on?
Impact on Automotive?
I started working last year as a dev under Automotive and it's my first job out of college. I'm finding it hard to focus on work with this whole thing going on, so maybe I'm just fishing for some sort of piece of mind, but also curious to know if we... — read more

Aware platform : next big thing?
I see lof of old timers in this project coming in as like rotten wine in New bottle. Is this project a next big thing like qualcomm executives are routing it to be?
Gave my notice
Will be leaving Qualcomm as I landed another position. Hopefully one less layoff.
For the love of god just tell us!
Morale is low and workload is getting higher as if they want to do a lot prior to the layoff. Just tell us so we can throw the towel or pick it up and continue.

Don't fall to office politics and toxicity if you are laid off.
Don't mind those that talks about you or being happy you got laid off in the process. Keep your heads up, march on. Some may even have party with champagne to celebrate they survived, but don't let it get tk your head is most important.
Take FTO now
List is done and nothing will change it. Great time to take on that home improvement project or trip to Greek islands.
List
