- Protect exec's $ multi-million bonuses
No company is obliged to keep you employed for as long as you want. It’s a business, not a charity.
Just because it is "the norm", doesn't make it right. They are screwing with peoples' lives. It's immoral.
Well, there are multiple reasons:
- Overhiring during Cocid
- slow market
- market share loss
- moving things to Qipl (qipl has more headcount than SD already)
Hiring and cutting is normal in tech, get used to it. Look at Meta,Amazon, Google, they let go 10s of thousands each.
