I would glad trade with anyone and continue working for Qualcomm.

2008 was a recession, this is just rebalancing
I survived this round, but with a heavy heart having to see more of my friends and colleagues depart. Losing confidence in and loyalty to the company, in the leadership, the mobile industry, the near term economy, faced with increased workload and continued uncertainty.
So I opened up linked-in and started browsing job listing for my first time in many years. I'm sure many good engineers in Q who survived this round are probably doing the same. I won't be actively sending out resumes or applying yet, but you can bet I'll be studying for interview questions with an hightened sense of urgency.
is New Jersey office impacted in this round? it appears they just let go 91 people in January there
I was affected, and I do not envy the on going sense of uncertainty I'm leaving behind. You keep your job but it's just back to square one.. for how long? and that hangs heavy on one's heart. Eventually I'm sure it will settle but that could be after many lay offs.
I'm glad I got cut. I get to collect the severance & grab one of the remaining jobs that's still out there. When the next round comes the packages won't be as good & the jobs now available will be gone.
Also, if you are still at Q... your workload will now be doubling.
In the middle of recession you mean ?
