it's been 2275 since Mattel announced a deal with Sony to make a Barbie movie. In the announcement the project was said to be "moving very quickly".

Just looked and their site says: "We've found 27 Mattel Jobs near you!" So they're replacing the layed-off with cheaper employees. Or they're just id–ts.

Did Mattel participate in the CARES Act? If so, they are obliged to keep the majority of employees through a certain date only. Furloughed employees need to be back on by end of June, if returning.
