Wasnt there a movie a month announced for the past couple of years? When I started at FP I heard about a Barbie movie and a Heman movie and I think an American Girl Doll movie and then a bunch of others but no one seems to know anything about them at all or even who is working on them at Mattel. Was this all just fake news?

Its all smoke and mirrors. There are no movies. Just lots of overpaid execs and news announcements to boost the stock price. Appearances are everything at Mattel. Anyone want to prove me wrong?
There is a Masters of the Universe movie, it was just in1987.
Can they do better then that?
Are there actually people getting paid to “make movies” at Mattel ? Whatever happened to that big producer who was hired like three years ago who was supppsed to run the movie division? Please
Don’t tell me there is still a movie department getting paid fat salaries and making NOTHNG while others get the ax due to budget cuts?
Keep in mind, a group of people managed to greenlight, write, produce, animated and distribute for wide theatrical release Playmobil: The Movie in less time then it's taken Mattel to even start production on a single one of it's toy property based films.
Yes, Playmobil: The Movie had the third-worst opening day of all time and only went on to make $15 million against it's $75 million dollar budget, but at least it got made! That's what counts!
McG didn't have time for the Hot Wheels movie because he jumped over to the He-Man movie. Remember that?

Just STOP with McG if you want to get your movie made. Or maybe he's just making a living getting paid to be "attached" to Mattel movies.
Why couldn't they have announced him for the Max Steel flick?
There is no Santa Clause, no Tooth Fairy, no Easter Bunny, no Bigfoot and no Lochness Monster. Oh, and no movies. Sorry to break the news.
Wait - you mean McG isn't going to direct a blockbuster Hot Wheels movie for Columbia as announced for the brand's 35th Anniversary in 2003?

As someone in my late twenties, there have been five Presidents in my lifetime. The fact that three of those five have been in and out of office since Mattel began production on the Barbie movie really highlights a serious ineptitude.
Three US presidents have been in office since the Barbie and He-man movies have been in development.
I'd certainly watch a live action HeMan movie ... if he was played by a Hemsworth brother.
Tricks of the trade. These announcements are just to make the stock prices go up. Nothing more.
Nobody cares about Barbie or HeMan in movie form. It’s a losing game for Producers which they’re not willing to put their names on.
