Expats flee India, after forcing local employees to return to office in the epicenter of pandemic

Evacuation of expats is not surprising. Bangalore is now epicenter of pandemic in India, all expats ran away at the first chance.

The shocking thing is that these same slimy bunch of people rushed return to office, and then now many of local employees are left stranded as all of them are moving back to their safe home countries. Cases in employees increasing, folks dying.

And they run, so CARING.

And they will probably make that huge bonus of working in a ‘difficult country’ while sitting in the comfort of their home. And they expect reapect from us, and threaten by fear of upcoming pds.

One day you all expat managers and supervisors will pay for your mental torture to Indian employees. Exxonmobil needs humans not mindless zombies like you.

The stock price fills only the "leadership" pocket. The little guys get nothing. The only way they can maintain that price is by cost-cutting which means more layoffs. Margins are decreasing and sales will decrease too. #truth

Where i was at previously some genius contractor decided he was going to return to the customers house and steal their expensive dog.The greatest part was he was positively I.D.'ed through video camera surveillance of said customers,and HE installed the internet so they could view it remotely and upload it to the cloud.

Heck the cheapest employees in Bengaluru doesnt event think XOM is a long term career option. But if you are an MSP, you def. have a long term career since you provide even cheaper but c-appier services suitable to XOM mgmt. Even MSPs are now saying "WeAreExxonMobil". As for the BTC hiring, they had massive resignations too, so they keep trying to replace. Soon there will be none to train replacements.

This “nothing burger”, as Frack Boomer down here suggests, is going to join mandatory training from the wall of shame our company helped pioneer along the Antitrust and Foreign Corruption acts.

Quit, hands down. Literally a few weeks ago I was talking to some people at the company who had invented something and were looking for opportunities to commercialize it. Instead they got the rug pulled from under them. And guess what? One of the big tech companies just announced a similar concept getting released soon. #winning

I am curious what via company they are modeling their strategy after? The world still uses coal but demand continues to decline much like the future of our product. So which company is #winning in the dying coal industry that we can all look to for inspiration? How are their employees and shareholders faring? I’m sure their board and CEO is doing fine paying themselves bonuses as they declare bankruptcy and throw their pension obligations on the government pension guarantee board resulting in retirees getting pennies on the dollar.

Wrong people leading. Consultants told them they won’t succeed and can’t compete with others outside of oil and gas sandbox. Maybe they are right since we aren’t even #winning at what we proclaim is our core competency.

It isn't just lower prices for longer or forever that makes me pessimistic that things will ever return to this being an industry with opportunity. We haven't been #winning for years. Every benefit across the board has been devalued. This is a multiyear, even more than a decade trend. Wake up. You see a lot of people rushing into the coal mining industry these days? We are next. Even if the world needs our product the politicians and public opinion hate us and will do everything they can to k–l our industry or at least make it as unprofitable as possible. The days of big profits and big opportunities are gone and never to return.

We treat technical career people this way and wonder why we are #winning. Why is someone who wants to be a good technical engineer rather than trying to be the next CEO punished in the rankings? We need technical people but management thinks they are the only ones who add value.
